A few mornings ago I found myself on a walk in the rain. No surprise there, after all if I waited to walk when it was sunny, well, I might never walk! And, despite the rain, it
was a beautiful day! Green and fresh, I was treated to trees and plants in all their glory. As I walked, I was thinking about all of you---do you wait to walk on the sunny beautiful days or is walking in the rain something that doesn't intimidate you? I'd love to hear from you about that and also about what you are listening to as you walk. Is it an
audiobook on CD? An audiobook you've
downloaded from KCLS? One of the KCLS
players? Or perhaps some music? During my walk, I was listening to
The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. Told from the viewpoint of Enzo, the Swift family dog, this is the story of a race car driver and his family, and Enzo as he views the struggles and triumphs of his human family. This is a fascinating tale and don't take my word for it, Sarah, one of our librarians has written a wonderful
review on on KCLS
Book Talk blog. So read, listen, walk, and don't forget your
KCLS Walking Log. And after your walk, if it's still raining--how about a movie? I'm thinking...
Singin' in the Rain!
