It's true. Just come to book group, talk about what you've been reading and pick a book to keep. If you read it and talk about it at the next meeting, you can take another book to keep. And repeat.
Yesterday I went on a shopping spree at the Scholastic Warehouse in Auburn.
It. Was. Awesome.
I bought some Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. A copy of The True Meaning of Smekday by Adam Rex. First Light by Rebecca Stead. Some of that beloved post-apocalyptic fiction including The Other Side of the Island by Allegra Goodman and Devastation by Gloria Skurzynski. A bit of Scott Westerfeld steampunk. Another book about death (or life after?): The Everafter by Amy Huntley. A graphic novel called The First Escape (The Doppleganger Chronicles) by G.P. Taylor. KCLS Mock Newberry nominated title The Clockwork Three by Matthew J. Kirby. And some historical fiction - Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay and Shakleton's Stowaway by Victoria McKernan- to name a couple. That's not even everything I bought!
Come to our next meeting on Thursday, January 13 to chat, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, and check out these and other new books while supplies last.
