Discussed @ Teen Book Group In December

Ned Vizzini.jpegIf you missed today's Teen Book Group meeting (or if you just didn't write everything down that we talked about) here's what we discussed & what you said about it:

  • Dead Alive by Tom Clancy - Shrug.
  • It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini - An honest look at teen depression without the constant angst and drama.
  • Sherlock (Television series) - Highly recommended by two members.
  • There Will Be Blood (film) directed by Paul Thomas Anderson - There was no blood.
  • Exit Through The Giftshop (film) directed by Banksy - Highly recommended by two members. It's a documentary about someone who was making a documentary about Banksy, directed by Banksy.
  • 39 Clues bk. 1 by Rick Riordan - Love it. Picked it up without being a Percy Jackson or Red Pyramid fan.
  • The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan - Too soon to say - just started it.
  • Kipling short story collection - Something was said along the lines of if Shepherd's Pie were a book, this is it... though there are some peas.
  • In Time (film) directed by Andrew Niccol - LOTS of Justin Timberlake but highly recommended by two members.
  • Breaking Dawn (film) directed by Bill Condon- "So bad I wanted to cry."
  • A Murder of Crows directed by Susan Fleming - One member and I both suggest this fascinating documentary on crows.
  • Annoying: the Science of What Bugs Us by Joe Palca & Flora Lichtman - Really accessible psychology book on something relevant to everyone.

Members, please correct me if you feel you've been misquoted or if I've missed a title we spoke of.
