Starting in December,Teen Zone (formerly known as Game On), will happen on second Thursdays at the Issaquah Library. Doors open at 2:30 pm.

What can you do at Game On/Teen Zone?

Play games on Kinect for Xbox, Wii, or PS2. We have lots of different games. You can bring your own if they're rated E or T and meet teen librarian's approval.

Challenge a friend to a game of chess, Battleship, Scrabble, Candy Land, etc. We have lots of board games and a deck of playing cards.

Have a snack.

Hang out with your friends.

Read a book.

Read a magazine.

Do a different special activity every time. This month we made a turkey cookie (no turkeys were harmed in preparation for this edible craft). In December, come to the Teen Zone for a Beat Winter Beach Party. In January or March (help me decide!), compete in a Teen Zone Iron Chef.

Let me know if you have any suggestions for Teen Zone activities or if you'd like to participate in Teen Zone Iron Chef. Hope to see you there. Check the calendar for dates.
