1. Attend a free SAT Practice Exam on Sunday, October 30 (for students taking the December SAT). A review session will follow in November. Visit Kaplan's website to find complete details and register.

*Students taking the November SAT may sign up for the SAT Practice Test and Review Session at the Sammamish Library in October.

2. Get help from professional tutors through our online SAT Tutoring service, available 7 days a week from 1 pm to 10 pm.

3. Take full length SAT practice exams, read SAT study guide books online and get tips of the day at Testing & Education Reference Center. Go to http://www.kcls.org/databases and choose Careers and Education. Select Testing and Education Reference Center. Enter your library card number and pin when prompted and choose SAT from the College Prep Tools menu.

In partnership with Brainfuse, KCLS is now offering a new online tutoring service to help students identify their strengths and weaknesses on the SAT and WASL tests. Individual assessment allows students to create a customized learning plan (because everyone learns differently and needs help in different areas, right?). Multiple tests are available for each subject area, including pre and post testing. All tutors are trained to understand the particulars of the Washington state standards.

The WASL Learning Plan includes skills assessments in the following subjects:

· Reading: Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10
· Writing: Grades 4, 7 and 10
· Math: Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10
· Science: Grades 5, 8 and 10

There will be multiple choice and short answer essay questions. Multiple choice questions will be answered immediately by the tutor with a guided learning plan and the essay questions will be graded separately and returned within 24 hours.

The SAT test preparation will include assessment, skills building, critical reading, sentence completion, writing and mathematics. Students will receive one-on-one skills building with lessons from live tutors. Those lessons will focus on skill groups as identified by The College Board.

HelpNow tutors are trained and certified by Brainfuse. All tutors have been cleared with thorough background and reference checks, must possess a four-year degree and have prior teaching/tutoring experience. All tutors are US based.
