Art Of The Written Word

ArtEast.jpgTo help celebrate the King County Library System's Take Time to Read Book Cover Walking Tour, ArtEAST Art Center has created a special exhibit, The Art of the Written Word, and will be offering free classes in March and April in cooperation with the King County Library System.

At the Decorative Writer class you'll cut, tear, glue, fold, paint, drill, add to, stamp, collage, bolt or string together parts to give damaged, recycled, or worn out books a new life. Learn bookbinding skills at the Designing Writer and practice your writing craft at the Practicing Writer. But these are only a few of many different things you can do at ArtEAST this spring. Learn more and check out the full schedule of upcoming classes. Ages 14 and older welcome. All classes will be held at ArtEAST, 95 Front St. N., Issaquah.

Well, no. Or, not yet but the district has solicited input from students and teachers to see what's working in the schools and what might not be.

From yesterday’s issue of the Issaquah School District's E-News:

On May 18, the Leadership Team held a "Conversation Café" and invited all members of the community to talk about the Optimal High School Experience–what's working, what's not, and what outside-the-box thinking do we need to ensure all students succeed? More than 50 students, parents, and staff members attended, and the conversations were rich and varied, as outlined in the transcript of the evening. This information will be added to the feedback collected in focus groups conducted at each high school as the Leadership Team uses the information gathered during the close examination phase to begin to identify and establish priorities for further investigation.
