After reading An Abundance of Katherines I was pretty much sold on anything by John Green for life (at least for now). John Green's Looking for Alaska won the Michael L. Printz Award for excellence in young adult literature in 2006 (a big deal in the teen book world).
It felt like I had been waiting forever for his new book Paper Towns to come out and then my hold finally came in. I read Paper Towns over the weekend and loved it! Here's the story: Quentin Jacobsen is about to graduate from high school, and he's pretty comfortable being the geeky, loner-ish guy he's been all of his life. Everything changes one night when his next door neighbor, the girl he has had a huge crush on his entire life, shows up at his bedroom window and takes him out for an all night spree of pranks and living on the edge. The next day she disappears and Quentin and his friends set out to find her. This book is the perfect combination of mystery, romance, and humor. I laughed out loud and I cried a little too.
