Troy read the group books and answered questions about what it's like to be a firefighter before trying on his fire fighting gear.  Next, everyone went outside to check out fire engine Number 2!  Thank you to everyone who came to the program, and a big thanks to the Bellevue Fire Department!

The Newport Way Library will be hosting a STARS program on October 4th at 6:30pm in the Newport Way Library meeting room, led by instructor Katy Keehn.  This program will provide 2
hours STAR Credit in Child Growth & Development and Curriculum & Learning Environment and focuses on connecting children to nature. 

Research shows that children who have regular experiences in nature are better able to develop physically, cognitively, emotionally and socially. Through engaging discussion and hands-on experiences, this workshop will explore the lasting effect nature has in facilitating a child's overall development. Abundant resources will be provided for creating outdoor spaces where nature is a joyful part of a child's daily play and learning. Please Join us!  Register online to attend this program.

Join us for Book Buddies in the Meeting Room Thursdays!

Teens, aged 14 and older, read to elementary school children, listen to them read, and help them improve reading skills through tutoring and skill-improvement games.  (Games include Scrabble Junior, Boggle Jr., Alphabet, Bingo, Quiddler, and others.)
